Background of the Study
Human Resource Management (HRM) strategies are essential for aligning an organization’s human capital with its overall objectives, ensuring that employees are not only productive but also motivated and engaged. Effective HRM strategies, such as recruitment, training, performance management, and compensation, play a crucial role in improving employee performance (Omolara & Farouk, 2023). Dangote Cement Plc, one of the largest cement manufacturers in Africa, operates in a highly competitive industry where employee performance directly influences productivity and profitability.
In Niger State, Dangote Cement faces challenges related to maintaining high levels of employee performance across its various departments, particularly in the face of rapidly changing market conditions and customer demands. HRM strategies aimed at improving employee performance are crucial for ensuring that employees are equipped with the right skills, motivated to excel, and satisfied with their roles. This study will review the various HRM strategies implemented at Dangote Cement Plc in Niger State and assess their impact on employee performance.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the implementation of several HRM strategies, there are concerns that employee performance at Dangote Cement Plc in Niger State may not be fully optimized. Issues such as employee dissatisfaction, high turnover rates, and the mismatch between employees’ skills and job requirements have been identified. The study will examine whether the HRM strategies in place at Dangote Cement are effectively improving employee performance or if there are gaps that need to be addressed.

Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study focuses on reviewing HRM strategies in improving employee performance at Dangote Cement Plc in Niger State. Limitations include potential difficulties in obtaining detailed information on HRM strategies from the company and challenges in measuring the direct impact of these strategies on employee performance.
